Adrienne Jensen is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She works at Activcore in Princeton, New Jersey, located just 2 miles from Princeton University.

Adrienne specializes in orthopedics and sports injury recovery and prevention. She also has a special interest in breast cancer rehabilitation. She holds a Bachelors degree in Health and Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey, as well as a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University, ranked among the top 10 PT schools in the country. Additionally, she has numerous advanced post-graduate certifications.

Adrienne helps breast cancer survivors recover from oncology treatments (radiation, chemotherapy, reconstructive surgery, etc.) and safely return to a fulfilling life of sport, activity and wellness. She is among a select group of physical therapists specifically trained in this type of rehabilitation, making her exceptionally equipped to treat you from head to toe. Additionally, she is recognized nationally as a leading authority in the application of Redcord, a suspension exercise system designed to help you develop a smarter, balanced body through the power of neuromuscular activation.

As a competitive soccer player in both high school and college, Adrienne greatly understands the value of a healthy body and the discipline involved in keeping it that way. She also knows what it takes to overcome challenges, dealing with her own share of sports injuries. She continues to lead an active lifestyle by running, snowboarding, hiking, and biking, among other physical activities.

After starting her career as a physical education teacher, soccer coach and personal trainer, Adrienne found working closely with individuals who were hurting and requiring specialized help was what she was more passionate about. During the application process for physical therapy school, she was introduced to Redcord and the principles of neuromuscular activation. She saw a significant change in how incorporating such a progressive technique into a comprehensive treatment plan could effectively get people out of pain, faster than what she saw with traditional manual therapy and exercise. This realization solidified her decision to pursue physical therapy.

Once practicing as a physical therapist, Adrienne quickly learned that delivering quality care is nearly impossible in the conventional physical therapy setting where she was treating anywhere from 2-5 patients per hour. This led her to Activcore where she was able to provide the best care to her clients on a one-on-one basis, in order to efficiently address the root cause of their pain, provide effective treatment, and reduce their symptoms and empower them with the tools to return to the activities they love.

Over several years of treating, Adrienne found many patients have a history of breast cancer. While they were mainly seeking treatment for back, neck or shoulder pain and some even knee or foot pain, it became clear the root cause of their symptoms was closely related to their breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. In 2016, she was working with a student observer who was accepted into her Alma Mater graduate school, Arcadia University, but had to defer due to a brand new diagnosis of breast cancer. This student insisted on coming to see Adrienne for rehab throughout her cancer treatments so that she could return to dancing without restriction. This is where Adrienne learned how essential physical therapy treatment at the onset of the breast cancer diagnosis is in order to have the best outcomes and reduce further debilitation in the years that follow.

Adrienne is a Certified Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Therapist. She is pursuing further continuing education in this area to continue to provide the best care to her clients. Breast cancer changes an individual from the day it is diagnosed. Adrienne’s goal is to provide care to these individuals so they don’t have to sacrifice more or experience pain longer than necessary to live the fullest life possible. Her focus has been working with athletes and dancers who are breast cancer survivors. Pulling from her strong orthopedic and strength training background, her expertise in treating shoulder pain, and her knowledge of oncology rehab — Adrienne has become a leader in the profession, and she has found great joy in seeing her clients get their lives back.

My Reviews

My therapist Dr. Adrienne Jensen is extremely knowledgeable. I've learned a lot about the weaknesses and imbalances in my body and I have a clear idea about what I can do about them.

Dr. Adrienne Jensen gave me my life back after a life-altering spinal injury with significant nerve damage. I came to her after years of surgery, injections, and physical therapy from numerous practitioners. I was living with extremely limited mobility, severe chronic pain, and had given up hope that I would even be able to manage basic household tasks again. Not only did Adrienne understand the complexity of my injury, but she built up my lost strength using her intricate knowledge of anatomy and physiology. This was a miracle for me. The work we did together allowed me to get back to doing the things I love and allowed me to explore new things like hiking and traveling. I never thought I’d be able to experience things like this again. Adrienne is truly passionate about her work and it shows in how she treats her patients. Thank you Adrienne and Activcore for allowing me to get back to living life. You are miracle workers.

A really exceptional place. I've seen Dr. Adrienne Jensen twice. Each time she fixed things other physical therapists couldn't. Kristi Herbert has also been amazing at teaching me how to exercise and stay pain free without giving up activities I enjoy. Both were super friendly and knowledgeable. Plus, unlike a lot of other places, they work with you one-on-one. So, you can always ask questions, give feedback, and you don't have to wonder if you're doing an exercise correctly while your trainer/therapist is off with some other patient.

I cannot say how pleased my wife and I are with being treated by Dr. Adrienne Jensen at Activcore. She came highly recommended to us by a friend and it was timely, indeed, to address core stability and back issues we have experienced this year. The one-on-one, hands-on approach in each session yields amazing results in a relatively short amount of time. Dr. Adrienne is personable, extremely knowledgeable about body mechanics and function, and uses a customized approach when dealing with each client's personal needs. It makes each session highly enjoyable and interactive (even as you work through some tough spots!). The facility is also beautifully maintained, with modern equipment and training gear. Plenty of space for clients to work with PTs in a safe, functional environment. We trust Dr. Adrienne's guidance and experience and will continue to have her be part of our physical care and well being. Thank you!

My husband and I have been to Activcore several times over the years for various injuries. We both know that Dr. Adrienne Jensen is a miracle worker. She fully understands the mechanics of the human body and how to get to the source of a problem. She is excellent at knowing how to strengthen specific muscles to eliminate pain (or weakness) and its triggers. She also creates new ways of movement to prevent future issues. Adrienne brings joyful energy, truly seems to love her job, and is world class in her expertise. We cannot recommend her more highly.

6 stars (out of 5) for Dr. Adrienne Jensen and her team at Activcore! I have been a patient of this practice for over 5 years for various injuries, rehab, and maintenance. Adrienne is exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable. She is attentive, patient and caring. Under her guidance and expertise through the Heal-the-Healers program, I have been able to address dysfunctional movement compensations and misalignment issues, which were preventing me from functioning at full capacity as a personal trainer/yoga instructor. Both my clients and I am immensely grateful.

Sometimes, if you recommend a person too strongly, people don’t think the recommendation is real. But to put it simply, Dr. Adrienne Jensen at Activcore in Princeton is an exceptional physical therapist. For about a year I endured pain in my hip, thinking it was just a normal part of getting old. At my son’s suggestion, I saw Adrienne. She instantly identified a problem with my hip flexor. Then she gave me exercises that were effective and easy to do. Within weeks I was pain free. Now I know that there’s no need to tolerate pain just because you’re getting a little older. Adrienne is incredibly talented and I highly recommend her and I won’t hesitate to go back to see her if I overdo it again.

I'm a working mother of two, and I suffer from chronic pain. In the last ten years, I have had many doctors visits that didn't help at all. After years of trying to find a reason or solution and gritting my teeth through the pain, I finally got to the point where I could hardly straighten my spine. I first worked with Shawn Tepper-Levine (Osteopath) who led me to Dr. Adrienne Jensen and Dr. Ashley Newton. They were an incredible team, working together to diagnose and treat each aspect of my pain. They were patient and compassionate, but also challenged me to address my fears. They worked to understand my individual journey, and helped me create a plan. The outcomes were better than expected. I am not completely out of pain. But when I have flare-ups, I now have the tools to get me out of pain. I don't want to say it's a miracle, because it's not – it's physics, a deep understanding of anatomy, and motivation, and hard work! But I am here to say, what Dr. Adrienne and Dr. Ashley have done for me feels like a miracle. I have learned it's never too late to put energy into healing, and I am grateful for my team.

Dr. Adrienne Jensen is an expert and has helped me recover after breast cancer surgery. She has helped me regain full motion and strength. I can’t recommend her more highly.

To call Dr. Adrienne Jensen an excellent physical therapist would be an understatement. In my experience, it's rare to find someone who truly gives a s*** the way she does. Even going weeks/months between appointments, the fact that she remembers the details not just of whatever we're working on, but even of the small talk we make along the way, shows that she truly cares in addition to being knowledgeable and a fantastic communicator.

The cherry on top is the entire Activcore environment. Every therapist and employee from top to bottom is welcoming, non judgmental, and kind. I strongly recommend Activcore whether you're an athlete or just looking to live your life more comfortably.

I have had a great experience working with Dr. Adrienne Jensen at Activcore in Princeton. I’m an avid runner, but had developed leg and hip pain and stiffness which made running very difficult and unenjoyable for me. I started going to Activcore last fall and Adrienne was able to quickly diagnose my problems (muscle imbalances) and work with me to address them. Within a couple of weeks I was running again and within about 4-6 weeks the pain and stiffness was gone. I’m now back to running the way I was before my pain/stiffness developed, and, most importantly, enjoying it again. This experience has been truly transformative for me, and has changed the way I look at flexibility and strength training.

The best PT program I've followed. Dr. Adrienne Jensen did an amazing job. I get out with a clear routine, great explanations, and hardly no pain anymore.

Adrienne Jensen helped me to solve a problem caused by a concussion when I felt there was no hope in sight. She restored my balance, helped me regain strength, and instilled confidence in my ability to recover. Each time I meet with her, she recalls the details of our last visit, listens to my concerns with sincere interest, and encourages me to text her after our sessions. Adrienne's sense of humor is infectious and is as much a part of the healing process as the actual therapy. Adrienne is a seasoned professional and works cooperatively with the other therapists at Activcore to provide the best possible care for their patients. I highly recommend Adrienne and Activcore. She has been a game-changer on my road to recovery.

I woke up in the morning with sciatica. One session with Dr Jensen, and I’m feeling so much better. She taught me helpful stretches and exercises and she provided me with much needed helpful advice. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of pain relief. Five stars!!

Activcore is very attentive to all of the needs of their clients during these perilous times. The physical space is ample and the health precautions are excellent.  Both my husband and I feel very safe going to each session. My therapist is Dr. Adrienne Jensen and she has worked tirelessly in improving my piriformis pain. She has individualized my therapy and there has been significant improvement in my ability to function, with all aspects of movement. Adrienne is a very positive therapist and this confidence encourages her clients to work hard during each session as well as to rigorously follow an exercise regime at home. She is adept at diagnosing what activities are most important in treating this syndrome.

I started working with Dr. Adrienne Jensen one month after I finished treatment for Stage II Breast Cancer that included a unilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, axillary node dissection, chemotherapy, and radiation. As a professional dancer and full-time dance professor, my entire career centered around the physical training and expressive potential of the human body. It was quite a shock to be diagnosed at age 35, and go into chemically-induced menopause immediately. Following my year-long cancer treatment, I had limited range-of-motion of my left arm, and had lost a significant amount of my physical strength, overall muscle tone, flexibility and stamina. I was consumed with fear of developing lymphedema and unsure if I would ever return to working in my field at the same level. I knew I needed to find an expert physical therapist who understood post-cancer rehab and could also address the needs of an athlete. I am incredibly grateful for Adrienne and her specialized work at Activcore because I am back to dancing! She addressed all of my concerns about regaining strength and mobility, and helped me reach milestone after milestone on my recovery journey. The survivorship stage can feel very overwhelming, but I feel really lucky to have found such a compassionate clinician who has helped me feel whole again. I adore Adrienne, and the way she utilizes the Redcord suspension system for cancer rehab is brilliant.

Dr. Adrienne Jensen gave me back my strength, flexibility, and belief that I could move in the ways I wanted to and had before my treatment for Stage II Breast Cancer. Before my diagnosis, being physically active was one of my favorite ways to spend my time. However, after a double mastectomy, I couldn’t reach my arm past shoulder height without pain. I was so weak that lifting my 16 pound dog was a challenge. I was mortified and devastated. With endless patience and a depth of empathy I have rarely encountered, Adrienne worked with me each step of the way to restore my range of motion, strength, and retrain my body how to move again. Adrienne did not want me to just survive cancer, she wanted me to thrive after it. I cannot recommend her more highly whether you’re currently in treatment or still having complications years later.

After a significant increase in pain and reduced mobility from a meniscus tear in my left knee led me to pursue an operation, PT at Activcore was recommended to me as a possible alternative. I was immediately put at ease by the genuinely welcoming and positive staff. I was further encouraged by the thoroughness of my consult with Adrienne Jensen (Doctor of Physical Therapy) who clearly explained the cause of my condition and what would be required to relieve my pain. During the same session, Adrienne had me do several exercises using the Redcord Suspension system that not only resulted in an immediate improvement in my mobility, but also helped me to understand which muscles needed strengthening. She sent me home with an initial set of exercises that helped continue this improvement. As the pain in my knee continued to subside, Adrienne assigned progressively difficult exercises to build the muscles supporting my injured knee and improve my balance, which had been compromised due to walking with pain in one leg. After two weeks I was able to resume the daily 3 mile fast-walks I had stopped due to my condition. My success is directly attributable to Adrienne’s professional competence in PT combined with just the right balance of encouragement and firm, clear and confident instructions. I highly recommend Activcore for its honestly caring professionals and their straightforward and personalized approach to PT.

I love a lot about Activcore. First, I love the type of physical therapy. The system of ropes and pulleys are unique and help you to get stronger without hurting yourself. This is therapy for people who are and want to remain active! it's not your grandmother's type of PT, but yet the approach is very individual and geared to you specifically. It challenges you without overtaxing you and is very specific to your needs. Best of all, it works!!
Second, I love the staff. They are all friendly and helpful, particularly my therapist, Adrienne Jensen. She is very knowledge, patient, kind and very good-natured. I look forward to my therapy sessions because Adrienne is such a wonderful person and she has really helped me to get stronger and more flexible. She really listens to my needs and targets each session to my specific aches, pains and goals. Love Adrienne!
Third, I love your billing department, particularly Diane. She is very helpful and diligent in her job and has persevered to get me money back from the insurance company that i didn't even know I was owed! The billing department does everything for you and takes all the hassle out of the process of filing insurance claims, etc.
I would highly recommend Activcore to anyone in pain for any reason!! It is a well oiled machine and pleasure to deal with them. I have received relief for aches and pains that have plagued me for years. Thank you Adrienne and Activcore!!!

I have had low back, hip, buttock pain for 11 years and nothing worked until I went to see Adrienne at Activcore. After trying regular PT, chiropractic, acupuncture, a spinal cord stimulator trial, spinal cord spacers, two ablation trials, and multiple epidurals, I decided to have 4 laminectomies with a non-instrumented fusion with a bone graft at Pennsylvania Hospital. Three months after surgery, I still couldn't stand more than 5 minutes or walk more than 100 feet without pain-the same pain as before the surgery. The surgeon said I didn't need PT but I decided that I did. A friend recommended Activecore but I was very skeptical after having tried so much PT in the past with no improvement. This isn't like any PT you have ever seen or had! I noticed a difference after the first visit. Although I experienced progressively less pain, standing was still very challenging. Because of the surgery and bone graft, I wasn't allowed to bend or twist for 6 months. Last week, I passed 6 months and Adrienne could finally work on opening up my upper back. Last Saturday, I spent 1.5 hours in the garden pruning bushes and NO pain!!! I was incredulous AND I wasn't stiff and sore the next day! I don't remember ever being able to garden for that long without severe pain. Activcore is totally different so if you have ANY pain, anywhere, give it a try because it is unique and it works!

My daughter has been seeing Adrienne and Ali for tension headaches and has not had a headache since. This is probably the longest she has gone without a headache for the last year. Adrienne and Ali are the best in the industry. They are spot on with their diagnosis and the treatment works. Although, my insurance does not cover it, it is well worth it. You will get better faster at activcore.

Jonathan C.

Adrienne is an excellent Doctor of Physical Therapy who took the time to explain how my diagnosis manifested within my body and the significance of each exercise in my treatment plan. She took the time to create an extensive and detailed home exercise plan that was clear and easy to follow at home. The red cord system is fantastic and yields quick and excellent results. Adrienne was able to temporarily subside my heel pain within one visit and continue to do so with my follow up visit! You can’t beat that 1-hour one-on-one attention. Overall, Adrienne is a knowledgeable and friendly PT that I would recommend to anyone seeking any type of physical therapy.

Isabel O.

I have went to many physical therapy places for my knee for months and I found no improvement after months of treatment. As soon as I switched to Activcore and started working with Adrienne I noticed progress in only a few visits. At Activcore you have someone focused on you the whole visit. Adrienne knew so much about the body and what to do to help my knee. She was so eager to get me back to where I needed to be in order to play the game I love.

Paige P.

There's a reason this place has so many 5 star reviews. It's a different kind of care, all of the therapists are actively engaged the entire session. And they don't address symptoms, they address the issue causing them. They can get you pain free and then help you improve beyond your pain free state. The redcord equipment gives them so much flexibility to help you and it's pretty fun. Definitely worth at least getting an assessment done. One session with Adrienne and I knew it was the best option; I was pain free and I knew how to address pain in the future. Give it a try!

I have been traveling in from Brooklyn to come to Activcore in Princeton, NJ and I'm so happy I did.  Adrienne was my PT at Activcore Princeton and she is fantastic. She is extremely knowledgable and really caring. Adrienne has significantly helped with my achiness/pains and I have only been to Activcore throughout the span of around a month. Long drives has been a more pleasant experience for me after working with Adrienne and I can stretch more. I love that she took videos with my camera so I am able to view the exercises at home. I will be beginning work soon in Brooklyn and it will be too difficult for me to continue to travel in after work, but I am glad to be able to continue with great exercises that I can do at home. Also, enjoyed the workout on the redcord suspension. The administrative staff, Alison and Elisa, are really top-rate. They are so nice, cheerful, and friendly and really enhanced my experience at Activcore Princeton. They were great with scheduling and with rescheduling for me as I had decided to make some changes to earlier appointments and just so great to chat with. Thank you all!!

I've had PT a few times but not like this. It's amazing . Adrienne is so thorough and knowledgeable & stays with you the entire hour you are there. I went in with a couple issues but then had an accident (torn rotator cuff & torn hamstring) I continued to go and she worked on those injuries as well. There is such precision in what she did & in how that process works. I can't urge people enough to try this form of PT. My original problems that sent me there were disintegrating discs in my neck & scoliosis in my lower back. I could barely turn my neck & the pinched nerves in my back were so painful. First visit I was in awe & wanted to stay all day. Second visit showed even greater results! Go there before you go to any other PT. Highly recommend it.

Adrienne and the Redcord suspension therapy are amazing! My 16 year old son had back pain that would shoot into his arms and legs when running. With the use of Redcord, Adrienne was able to isolate the pain and develop a therapy program to be done both with her and at home. Not only did the plan work on his back, Adrienne also focused on his core and ankle which were both contributing to the back pain. Adrienne truly cares and still periodically checks in to see how he is doing. Redcord at Activcore and Adrienne gave my son his lacrosse season back pain free!

Susan W.

I was involved in a car accident and was experiencing severe neck pain, along with some back pain as well. I was sent to another physical therapy facility which, after 4 months had no affect on my pain or healing. When I started at Activcore with Adrienne as my physical therapist, the healing began almost immediately. She was able to diagnose exactly what the cause of my pain was, and knew the best way to treat it. Each time I went I could feel a significant difference in my neck and back. I have never felt so much better from any type of therapy or exercise, as I have from Activcore.
