Amanda Holmes is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) who specializes in pelvic and orthopedic health. She works at Activcore in Denver, Colorado, located just a mile from the popular Cherry Creek Shopping District.
Amanda's background and education make her uniquely qualified to handle more complex conditions like pelvic floor dysfunction, including bowel, bladder and sexual health problems. She holds a Bachelors degree in Athletic Training from the University of Toledo, graduating with honors Magna Cum Laude. She holds a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Regis University in Denver, ranked among the top 30 PT schools in the country. She also has advanced post-graduate training in pelvic health, including internal pelvic examinations, through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.
Amanda treats people of all genders throughout their lifespan. She has a special interest in men's health, addressing bladder control issues, sexual dysfunction, prostate cancer rehab, and other pelvic conditions.
Amanda goes beyond the pelvic floor and looks at the whole body to help you recover from pain and injury, and safely return to a fulfilling life of sport, activity and wellness. She possesses a rare combination of highly developed skill sets in pelvic health, orthopedics and athletic training that make her exceptionally equipped to treat you from head to toe. Additionally, she is recognized nationally as a leading authority in the application of Redcord, a suspension exercise system designed to help you develop a smarter, balanced body through the power of neuromuscular activation.
Starting her career in Athletic Training, Amanda worked with high school and college athletes recovering from sports injuries. During her graduate studies in physical therapy, she developed a passion for helping people with chronic and complex pain conditions get back to the things they love to do.
At Activcore, Amanda works with her clients on a one-on-one basis to craft an individualized plan that meets their needs and goals. She strives to find the deeper underlying source of pain, versus just treating the symptoms. She is passionate about educating and empowering them through each step of the journey, as she believes you should be knowledgeable about what is going on with your own body.
In particular, Amanda enjoys working on more complex pelvic, back, and nerve pain conditions that other practitioners could not resolve. Her treatment plans involve manual therapy, exercise, and nervous system reeducation to help build resilience and confidence for safely returning to an active, pain-free lifestyle.

I have been so happy with the Activcore experience. Dr. Amanda Holmes helped me immensely with my bladder and pelvic floor issues. She was upbeat and encouraging, easy to talk to, and never made me feel uncomfortable even discussing very private issues. She gave me a lot of information on what I could do to help myself, things to avoid, changes to my routine, in addition to the pelvic floor therapy she was providing. She was always on time, prepared for me, with each appointment building on the previous one. I looked forward to our therapy sessions and have sung her praises to many of my friends. The care and therapy changed my life, thank you Amanda!
I contacted Activcore a few months ago and was immediately impressed by their front desk staff that answered the phone. They were personable, very helpful, and assisted me in understanding my insurance benefits in advance of my first appointment. From there, Dr. Amanda Holmes completely impressed me. I saw her for treatment after enduring an uncomfortable physical condition for many months. From the moment I met Amanda and visited with her, I could tell she was different from physical therapists I had seen in the past. She was compassionate, motivated to help me feel better and get back to fully experiencing the activities I love, and committed to helping me identify ways to help myself outside of our appointments. Every appointment I had with Amanda was well planned and built on my previous appointments, allowing me to maximize my time with her and achieve results quickly. I so appreciated how Amanda took time to help me understand what was going on with my body and the purpose of the different stretches, exercises, and weight routines that we did (knowledge is powerful), and how she helped me identify things in my daily routines that were contributing to my condition. I highly recommend Amanda. She has an upbeat and positive personality, tremendous energy, and will help you succeed in your recovery. If I experience different issues in the future, Amanda will be who I turn to for help. I've already recommended Amanda to multiple friends. Thanks for taking care of your patients, Amanda!
I suffered from neck and shoulder pain for years, and had chronic headaches. I tried almost everything: frequent massage, chiropractic adjustments, and acupuncture. Then, after my OBGYN told me to try physical therapy for some specific issues during my pregnancy (and it worked), I decided to give it a try for my chronic neck and shoulder issues. It’s been awesome. I can’t really recommend them enough. I have finally begun to feel some hope that I won’t have this chronic pain and headaches for the rest of my life (does that sound dramatic? it has been dramatic for me). Beyond that, this particular place is the best. Everyone is incredibly nice and welcoming. My PT (Amanda Holmes) is awesome. She is knowledgeable, encouraging, and effective. Highly highly recommend this place.
