Dr. Bryan Lynd

A physical therapist for golf and other rotational sports

Bryan Lynd is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) golf medical level 3 practitioner. He works at Activcore in Princeton, New Jersey, located just 2 miles from Princeton University.

As an avid golfer himself, Bryan has a special interest in injuries from golf and other rotational sports. He holds a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from Western University in Canada, as well as a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY. He also has advanced post-graduate training in the evaluation and treatment of professional, amateur and junior level golfers through the prestigious Titleist Performance Institute.

Prior to working at Activcore, Bryan gained much experience treating golfers at Golf & Body NYC, an exclusive golf performance and wellness center located in midtown Manhattan. He also co-founded the Westchester Golf Performance Academy.

Bryan goes beyond the symptoms and looks at the whole body to help you recover from pain and injury, and safely return to a fulfilling life of sport, activity and wellness. He is among less than 1% of all physical therapists to be certified by TPI as a level 3 medical practitioner, making him exceptionally equipped to treat you from head to toe. Additionally, he is recognized nationally as a leading authority in the application of Redcord, a suspension exercise system designed to help you develop a smarter, balanced body through the power of neuromuscular activation.

Bryan was inspired by a physical therapist when he was a young man rehabilitating from a hockey injury. Now, he draws on his past experiences to try and inspire others. Bryan is a fanatic of daily movement and exercise, especially as it relates to playing golf. He believes that health is a complex web of physical, mental, and spiritual domains overlapping. It is his mission to help people move better, motivating them to improve all aspects of their game.

Bryan enjoys working with a diverse clientele, unified by one common theme — an unrelenting desire to be physically active! He is motivated by helping golfers feel their very best while practicing and playing. He uses his experience as a player and as a medical professional to guide his treatment practices. At Activcore, he applies the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) model of assessing the body for physical limitations that may arise in the golf swing.

Recently, Bryan has taken the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's best, including being mentored by Dr. Greg Rose who advises members on the PGA Tour. Using the TPI model, Bryan believes the best results are achieved when medical, fitness, and golf professionals all work together as an integrated team.

When I first met Bryan Lynd at Activcore my goal was clear: to walk onto the first tee at the senior men’s club championship as a 55 year old and have my competitors be intimidated by having to play such a youthful and athletic golfer. Not only did I achieve this, but I won the championship. Working with Bryan I was able to overcome a labral tear in my shoulder and avoid having to get surgery. Using the Redcord system I have been able to strengthen my core and continue to improve my golf game as I get older.

I was looking for assistance with my golf clients who were dealing with pain while trying to play. Luckily I met Bryan, and after talking with and being treated by him I was very confident in his abilities as a therapist and was able to refer my clients to him. From there, we formed a partnership in which we put clients through the TPI golf mobility screen, as well as a TPI performance screen. Thanks to Bryan and his extremely detailed work assessing movement, pain, and dysfunction, our clients had a detailed plan in place from the very first assessment.

Partnering with a TPI Medical Professional has been a huge benefit in helping my students improve their swing. Everyone's physical make up is different, so it is imperative to understand the limitations of my students. By partnering with a therapist, we can discuss what needs to be done in order to help a student with their game. The TPI approach to instruction is vital. Having Dr. Bryan Lynd in my corner has helped take my instruction to another level!

When I first met Bryan I was coming off a back surgery which I thought would fix my problems, but it did not. I was very down and unable to exercise or play golf/tennis which I loved to play regularly. Bryan was great in determining a program to get me back on my feet, literally. Bryan and his network of TPI professionals — including a personal trainer and golf coach — used a team approach to get me back on the course. His commitment to using an individualized approach to my back problems has changed my life. I am now playing golf, tennis, running, and swimming with no setbacks, which I never thought I would be able to say.
