Ed Foresman is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) with more than a decade of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics in the Denver area.
Ed serves as Center Director and lead physical therapist at Activcore in Denver, Colorado, located just a mile from the popular Cherry Creek Shopping District. He also serves as Activcore's VP of Research & Development.
With an extensive clinical background and education, Ed is uniquely qualified to handle more complex pain conditions that other practitioners could not resolve. He attended both college and physical therapy school at the University of Colorado, ranked among the top 20 PT schools in the country. He is also a graduate from Temple University's Orthopedic Residency program, as well as a published author with two scientific articles about treatment interventions for musculoskeletal pain and lumbar disorders.
Ed goes beyond the symptoms and looks at the whole body to help you recover from pain and injury, and safely return to a fulfilling life of sport, activity and wellness. He is among less than 10% of all physical therapists holding the prestigious OCS designation as an orthopedic clinical specialist, making him exceptionally equipped to treat you from head to toe. Additionally, he is recognized nationally as a leading authority in the application of Redcord, a suspension exercise system designed to help you develop a smarter, balanced body through the power of neuromuscular activation.
Ed's first encounter with physical therapy began when his younger brother, Andrew, suffered a broken leg. With this injury, Andrew’s hopes of a baseball career started to fade. Ed watched as Andrew slowly regained his strength and along with it his confidence and motivation. Through hard work and grit, Andrew was able to play baseball again, crediting physical therapy for his success.
With determination and focus, Ed pursued a career in physical therapy as his true calling. This commitment first led him to pursue his studies at the University of Colorado, followed by his residency at Temple University, and then finally to Activcore where he is able to continue his pursuit of excellence treating one client at a time.
Mentored by exemplary practitioners across the United States, Ed has a strong ethical commitment to provide quality care and exceptional solutions to clinical problems. He is a “research junkie” and even a published research author — see Ed’s research articles listed below.
Ed remains committed to his vision of providing the most progressive, evidence based care possible. Watching friends and family struggle with chronic pain and opioid addiction has motivated him to pursue excellence with every client, following through each plan of care to its completion.
Ed recognizes the importance of being “active for life” as a lover of the outdoors and an avid athlete himself. He knows what it takes to overcome injury and setbacks, and what it means to help others reach their goals. Unlike many physical therapists who are content once patients are out of pain, Ed strives to complete the rehabilitation process and prevent additional injuries in the future by transitioning his clients from physical therapy into performance.
Ed’s performance sessions are a unique blend of focused core activation, joint durability conditioning, active mobility and neuromuscular reprogramming. Ed practices what he preaches and has successfully applied this program to help his daughter who had spinal surgery. He was able to correct her scoliosis and continues to help her participate in sports despite having no lamina in 3 out of her 5 lumbar vertebrae.
Many clients remain committed to the program Ed has developed over the past 10 years of clinical practice. While they enjoy living a pain-free life, Ed enjoys working with committed individuals to achieve results others believed were impossible. He is a proud family man with an amazing wife and 4 wonderful kids who are most content when soaking up the beautiful outdoors of Colorado.

The treatment I received at Activcore was top notch! Dr. Ed Foresman prepared me for the Chicago and Boston marathons and ensured I got to each start line healthy and strong. My first treatment there after a few years (I had a flare up which brought me back in) I left in amazement of how great I felt after a few exercises on the Redcord. I didn't know how to describe how much better my back felt other than "Ed is a miracle worker!" I left that evening and had my best track workout in over 6 months.
I have known Ed Foresman for more than 8 years. He is the most talented and knowledgeable therapist I've ever worked with; and I've worked with A LOT. His new methods with Redcord have been extremely beneficial and I've seen real benefit from his treatments.
His dry needling treatment is amazing and has completely changed my ability to heal. You will not find more experience or better results in the Denver area.
Went in for a visit with Ed Foresman today, left feeling confident, with a solid plan for my lower lumbar issues. Had been to 3 different practices prior. I felt I learned more in the first hour at Activcore than I did at all previous stops. Ed is a true professional. The facility is state of the art.
Due to my back and knee issues, I have seen 10 Physicians, Surgeons and Physical Therapists over the past four years. More than any other professional, Dr. Ed Foresman has taken the time to listen to, understand and thoughtfully treat my issues and pain.
I appreciate that he is a good listener and takes time to hear me out and understand the problem before he makes suggestions and comes up with solutions. While he would never boast about it, he is incredibly well read and is an expert at treating a variety of issues, including lower back pain. He is fun, personable and has a great sense of humor.
He is interested in my overall well being and helping me get to where I can do with things that I enjoy the most, with the people I love the most. Although Ed is not in network and is an hour away from my home, it’s worth it for me to see him regularly. I have seen steady improvement through our time together.
He does not hesitate to go the extra mile with things such as sending me videos of exercises or taking calls when I have questions. Hands down, he is the best PT I have worked with! I would not hesitate to refer anyone to him.
