OUR SPECIALTIES

It's more than physical therapy, it's Activcore

From golfing to gardening, playing tennis to chasing toddlers — your favorite activities give life purpose, fulfillment, and joy. Whatever your age, whatever your stage, you want to enjoy them for as long as possible.

That's where Activcore comes in.

Every Activcore provider specializes in an area of study to become the very best at what they do. They're each on a clinical leadership track where they go well beyond what they learned in school — attending hundreds of continuing education hours and learning from other like-minded leaders in the industry to earn advanced credentials in physical therapy, rehabilitation, fitness and performance.

You will feel this elevated level of expertise come shining through at every touch. Activcore's highly personalized environment allows the providers to refine their craft and fully apply the power of their knowledge, in order to get the most out of you at every session for the fastest results and best outcome possible. That's a win-win for both you and your specialist.

ORTHOPEDIC PHYSICAL THERAPY

Research shows that physical therapy can be a viable alternative to opioid medication, cortisone injections, and surgery for your musculoskeletal pain. Activcore physical therapists apply a unique mind-body approach that gets to the underlying root cause of your symptoms. Whether you are recovering from a sports injury, rehabilitating from orthopedic surgery, or trying to overcome chronic pain and dysfunction, you will have your own dedicated physical therapist by your side to safely guide you back to an active lifestyle.

PELVIC HEALTH

A healthy pelvis provides the foundation for a smarter, balanced body. Your pelvis serves many important functions. As the center connection point between your upper and lower body, it is core to the way you move, breathe, and regulate normal processes like voiding. Activcore physical therapists and performance specialists are specially trained to help optimize how your mind and pelvis work together (in balance) so that you can regain control of your body.

PREGNANCY & POSTPARTUM CARE

There are many changes that happen to the body to accommodate the growing baby during pregnancy — the diaphragm is pushed up, the ribs are spread out to the sides, the abdominal wall is stretched and weakened, and there is increased downward pressure on the pelvic floor. Childbirth then results in addition stress and/or injury to the pelvic floor and abdominal wall. Activcore physical therapists are uniquely qualified to assess and treat women during pregnancy and after childbirth.

It is intended for anyone who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer ("Prehab") or is at any point along a course of medical care including radiation, chemotherapy, alternative treatments, and/or surgical interventions (lumpectomy, mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, etc.). Our breast cancer specialists are fully equipped to help minimize the effects of oncology treatment. They are also specially trained to gently guide you into more progressive physical activities for a safe return to sports and everyday life.

THE OVERHEAD ATHLETE

It is common for athletes who play overhead sports (tennis, volleyball, baseball, softball, track and field events, etc.) to develop pain or have an injury at their shoulder and elbow. But that doesn’t mean the problem starts or ends there. For many, the underlying cause of arm injuries is a lack of coordination and strength of the structures closer to the body, including the shoulder blade, spine, pelvis and hips. At Activcore, we have trained specialists who look at all of these pieces as a whole in order to effectively and safely help you return to your sport.

A common source of headaches, jaw clicking, jaw pain, neck tightness, and ringing in the ears is from the temporomandibular joint, better known as TMJ or TMJD (temporomandibular joint disorder). These issues can lead to severe pain, limited function with eating and talking, and disruption of sleep and daily activities. A qualified physical therapist at Activcore can help dramatically decrease your jaw symptoms, and in some cases eliminate most of the headaches related to the disorder.
