Ed Foresman is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) with more than a decade of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics in the Denver area.
Ed serves as Lead Physical Therapist and VP of Online Learning at Activcore in Denver, Colorado, located just a mile from the popular Cherry Creek Shopping District.
With an extensive clinical background and education, Ed is uniquely qualified to handle more complex pain conditions that other practitioners could not resolve. He attended both college and physical therapy school at the University of Colorado, ranked among the top 20 PT schools in the country. He is also a graduate from Temple University's Orthopedic Residency program, as well as a published author with two scientific articles about treatment interventions for musculoskeletal pain and lumbar disorders.
Ed goes beyond the symptoms and looks at the whole body to help you recover from pain and injury, and safely return to a fulfilling life of sport, activity and wellness. He is among less than 10% of all physical therapists holding the prestigious OCS designation as an orthopedic clinical specialist, making him exceptionally equipped to treat you from head to toe. Additionally, he is recognized nationally as a leading authority in the application of Redcord, a suspension exercise system designed to help you develop a smarter, balanced body through the power of neuromuscular activation.
Ed's first encounter with physical therapy began when his younger brother, Andrew, suffered a broken leg. With this injury, Andrew’s hopes of a baseball career started to fade. Ed watched as Andrew slowly regained his strength and along with it his confidence and motivation. Through hard work and grit, Andrew was able to play baseball again, crediting physical therapy for his success.
With determination and focus, Ed pursued a career in physical therapy as his true calling. This commitment first led him to pursue his studies at the University of Colorado, followed by his residency at Temple University, and then finally to Activcore where he is able to continue his pursuit of excellence treating one client at a time.
Mentored by exemplary practitioners across the United States, Ed has a strong ethical commitment to provide quality care and exceptional solutions to clinical problems. He is a “research junkie” and even a published research author — see Ed’s research articles listed below.
Ed remains committed to his vision of providing the most progressive, evidence based care possible. Watching friends and family struggle with chronic pain and opioid addiction has motivated him to pursue excellence with every client, following through each plan of care to its completion.
Ed recognizes the importance of being “active for life” as a lover of the outdoors and an avid athlete himself. He knows what it takes to overcome injury and setbacks, and what it means to help others reach their goals. Unlike many physical therapists who are content once patients are out of pain, Ed strives to complete the rehabilitation process and prevent additional injuries in the future by transitioning his clients from physical therapy into performance.
Ed’s performance sessions are a unique blend of focused core activation, joint durability conditioning, active mobility and neuromuscular reprogramming. Ed practices what he preaches and has successfully applied this program to help his daughter who had spinal surgery. He was able to correct her scoliosis and continues to help her participate in sports despite having no lamina in 3 out of her 5 lumbar vertebrae.
Many clients remain committed to the program Ed has developed over the past 10 years of clinical practice. While they enjoy living a pain-free life, Ed enjoys working with committed individuals to achieve results others believed were impossible. He is a proud family man with an amazing wife and 4 wonderful kids who are most content when soaking up the beautiful outdoors of Colorado.

The treatment I received at Activcore was top notch! Dr. Ed Foresman prepared me for the Chicago and Boston marathons and ensured I got to each start line healthy and strong. My first treatment there after a few years (I had a flare up which brought me back in) I left in amazement of how great I felt after a few exercises on the Redcord. I didn't know how to describe how much better my back felt other than "Ed is a miracle worker!" I left that evening and had my best track workout in over 6 months.
This place is the BOMB! They are the reason I didn't need back surgery. Between the PT and now into a year of the core classes I am 95% pain free. Please consider Activcore as an alternative to surgery or if you need core strengthening. Not to mention the peeps fricking ROCK. And Ed has a righteous playlist for class.
I have known Ed Foresman for more than 8 years. He is the most talented and knowledgeable therapist I've ever worked with; and I've worked with A LOT. His new methods with Redcord have been extremely beneficial and I've seen real benefit from his treatments.
His dry needling treatment is amazing and has completely changed my ability to heal. You will not find more experience or better results in the Denver area.
Went in for a visit with Ed Foresman today, left feeling confident, with a solid plan for my lower lumbar issues. Had been to 3 different practices prior. I felt I learned more in the first hour at Activcore than I did at all previous stops. Ed is a true professional. The facility is state of the art.
Due to my back and knee issues, I have seen 10 Physicians, Surgeons and Physical Therapists over the past four years. More than any other professional, Dr. Ed Foresman has taken the time to listen to, understand and thoughtfully treat my issues and pain. I appreciate that he is a good listener and takes time to hear me out and understand the problem before he makes suggestions and comes up with solutions. While he would never boast about it, he is incredibly well read and is an expert at treating a variety of issues, including lower back pain. He is fun, personable and has a great sense of humor. He is interested in my overall well being and helping me get to where I can do with things that I enjoy the most, with the people I love the most. Although Ed is not in network and is an hour away from my home, it’s worth it for me to see him regularly. I have seen steady improvement through our time together. He does not hesitate to go the extra mile with things such as sending me videos of exercises or taking calls when I have questions. Hands down, he is the best PT I have worked with! I would not hesitate to refer anyone to him.
I have been coming to Activcore since early 2016 with back and neck issues. I tried regular physical therapy for a couple of months before ending up hanging above Ed's table. He was able to built up my core strength, one muscle group at a time. After getting strong enough I joined the group lessons. The exercises here are geared towards strengthening your muscles so your body can deal with daily activities and my back hasn't felt better. I am so grateful for all the wonderful therapists at Activcore that have helped me out over the past couple of years. If you have issues that no other therapist can/could treat, go to one of these amazing people at Activcore, you won't regret it!
They are the most amazing caring group of people. Gavin O and Ed F have changed my life. Many years ago I had a horrible accident causing many serious injuries which I thought I would never be able to get back to my former self again. I started seeing Gavin for Dry Needling to help with pain and mobility issues. I was amazed how this seemingly small treatment would be the gateway to changing my entire life. My balance was trash, my strength was terrible and my life was in a slow decline. I was having a hard time doing my Job that I loved and even more than that I was afraid I would have to cut back or stop my much love mission work in Africa. Within a week or two I was in much less pain, and I was starting to move better. By week three I was doing things I had not done in years, and by week 6 my balance had made an unbelievable turn around. I was getting stronger and able to do things I didn't think possible. By Week 8 I started attending Core express classes with Ed, thrilled by the fact that I was being carefully guided in the exercises. I have tried so many things to build up my strength in the past even using personal trainers to help me. I ended out hurting myself and had to stop because my back couldn't take it. He gives positive feed back and encouragement each and every class. With Gavin still doing tweeks on my pain and other issues once a week I am a new and better person. Working with Activcore has changed my life and I feel like I am able to finally live the life I only dreamed about. From the bottom of my heart Thank you for Helping me achieve this.
Great space, great people, great service! I’ve been to many healthcare professionals for chronic back pain - doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists - and I have found that there are very few that are willing to devote the attention and effort required to reduce pain, improve mobility, and increase strength in your body. Ed at Activcore is absolutely one of those few. One-on-one services allow him to truly study your body and the way it moves before jumping to any (potentially inaccurate) diagnoses and strategies. Amazing! For anyone looking to improve their body functioning, I would definitely recommend Activcore.
Ed with ActiveCore is absolutely amazing! I was in a car accident and flared my back so bad that I could barely walk. After seeing Ed I was able to teach my fitness classes the next day (I still need some treatment but so much better). His treatment style and personable approach is worth a 45 minute drive one way and any out of pocket expenses. He is the BEST!
Ed is Exceptional! I have seen Ed for a few injuries, misalignment issues. He is attentive, kind, attuned, intuitive and well-educated. Ed helps to get the body aligned, healed, and up and running. I'm indebted to Ed. His care and concern to get and to keep me agile at my body's highest functioning is my goal--he shares in this attainment. Five stars for Ed Foresman!
I have had the best experience with ActiveCore of Cherry Creek. The type of Physical Therapy is cutting edge and enhanced my health in many ways and at a faster pace than the regular exercises we have been doing for the past 40 years. In fact, I did therapy prior to a knee replacement and my recovery faster than normal after surgery. Ed my physical therapist is licensed for the special procedures to assist patients health needs. I strongly recommend this facility. The people at the front desk also are very helpful with scheduling and assisting you as well. The physical therapists have. the expertise of the Norway procedures to help many different needs. Take time to check it out.
I've been to multiple massage therapists none have had any long term impact on my back and neck pain. Dr. Ed Foresman's advanced technique has relieved the majority of my discomfort and made my life practically pain free. 5 stars for Ed!
I have been seeing Ed Foresman for several years, basically whenever I have a problem. Each time with a different problem, shoulder, knee ,ankle, foot. Ed was able to make my pain go away , and then would always give me exercise to help me get back to my activities, volleyball, tennis. Ed has great knowledge of how the body works and can pinpoint the problem and get me pain free. I have been to several pts and he is the best by far hands down. I recommend Him to all my older friends, if they have any kind of a problem Eddie can fix them.
Ed Foresman and Activcore helped me recover from an ACL surgery. My goal was to be able to get back to the soccer field and I accomplished that in 7 months from the day of surgery with their support. Their guidance and support made it possible for me to focus on my recovery as well as get all the information I needed to be successful. Ed was available to answer any questions I had, especially as I transitioned to new exercises. During my office visits Ed focused on providing guidance for how to do the exercises and how to focus on form to be successful. I am extremely satisfied with the results and will recommend Activcore to anyone who needs Physical Therapy.
Best physical therapy experience I've ever had!!! Ed and his team are fantastic. Their knowledge, care and expertise are unsurpassed and I highly recommend them.
Ed is Polite, Professional and really Knowledgeable. After back surgery I was miserable in pain and barely able to tie my shoes. Working with Ed got me in the pool, back on the bike and strong enough to take a serious cycling holiday in Italy with my wife. Bravo!
In 2009 and 2010, I suffered severe injuries to my neck and upper back resulting in sprains and terrible nerve damage to my brachial plexus. I tried every traditional treatment available with no relief of my pain or improvement in my condition. Once I started Activcore, I finally had some relief in my pain levels and made great strides in my strength, posture, and movement. I would recommend this treatment because it really works. Ed Foresman is the best physical therapist ever! He truly cares for his patients and goes the extra mile.
Dr. Ed Foresman is one of the best physical therapists I've ever had work on me (and I've had lots).
His skill in dry needling is unsurmountable. (I have also had several therapists use dry needling with me, and Ed is one of two who have really been god enough to create transformation in my healing process.)
Ed is extremely kind and easy to get along with and communicate with. His understanding of the physical body, especially in regards to healing techniques and proper strengthening, serves his patients well. I know from first hand and ongoing experience/ treatments.
I have been seeing Dr Ed Forseman at ActivCore for the last few months. I have a somewhat complicated collection of injuries including 5 rotator cuff tears as well as a lower back fusion and additional injuries to my spine above my fusion. I have tried many different therapies over the years, and I feel that each did help me up to a point. At 37, I had come to terms with my limitations and with the fact that I will likely live in some amount of pain for the rest of my life. However, after a few appointments with Dr Forseman, I noticed more movement in my shoulder than I had had in years. I can now even do a push up, which I never thought I'd do again. The red cord therapy he uses along with isometric stretching has increased my range of motion in addition to lessening the daily pain. From my understanding it is teaching my brain and nervous system that movement doesn't have to hurt. He has taught me relaxation techniques, special breathing, as well as small movements that have genuinely helped me. He offers practical ways to help me with the pain patterns and is willing to switch up our sessions depending upon my needs at each appointment. If you are searching for a Physical Therapist for a new injury or a very old one, go see Ed Forseman at Activcore. His knowledge, skill, and compassion will make you feel like you can enjoy your daily life again!
Dr. Ed Forseman gave me my life back. He was able to quickly & correctly diagnosis my pain and help me understand and engage in the path to recovering my strength and mobility. He is warm, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. I'm so grateful for the care I got from him. The new redcord technology has been really helpful and reduced the amount of visits I needed.
Activcore is absolutely the most amazing physical therapy treatment ever. Dr. Ed Foresman is specially trained in this concept. Ed is very passionate about his work and treats and cares for each patient individually. It is completely painless and successful especially in the treatment of a total knee replacement, back surgery and shoulder issues.
