Mahez Shaikh is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Certified Manual Therapist (CMT) who specializes in pelvic health, women's health, orthopedics and neurological rehabilitation. She works at Activcore in Princeton, New Jersey, located just 2 miles from Princeton University.

Mahez received her undergraduate education at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science in India where she was was awarded several clinical excellence achievement awards. While studying physical therapy, she competed as a multi-sport collegiate level athlete in track & field, volleyball and cricket. Then she moved to the United States and attended graduate school at The State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo) where she earned a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. While working as a licensed physical therapist in New York and New Jersey, she completed a transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program through Evidence in Motion.

Mahez is now a Certified Manual Therapist (CMT) with more than a decade of clinical experience with a vast background in treating people of all ages. She has a special interest in orthopedics and sports related injuries. She is also proficient in geriatric care with certifications in LSVT BIG and Dementia care.

Mahez's passion lies in pelvic health. After her own frustrations from personal experiences of pelvic pain, bladder and bowel issues which magnified postpartum, Mahez has since been drawn to pelvic health physical therapy as an extension of her dedication and commitment to helping individuals silently suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction. She feels that there's a lack of awareness and guidance following any pelvic related ailments among both patients and practitioners. Her own experiences have shaped a better understanding and compassion for this population.

After being introduced to Low Pressure Fitness Hypopressives during her struggle with pelvic issues, Mahez became even more interested in learning about pelvic health and has since become a certified practitioner teaching her patients this amazing technique. She approaches the person holistically by interconnecting each segment of the body to provide a customized, tailored approach to each individual through her extensive background in pelvic health, orthopedics and manual therapy.

Mahez is an active member of American Physical Therapy Association advocating for her profession. When not treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son and enjoys reading, watching movies and traveling.

My Reviews

I am writing to let you know that I think Mahez is the best physical therapist I have ever encountered. She is so knowledgeable, about the human body as well as matching exercises to the needs of a client. She is able to teach the exercises in a clear manner and makes sure that each one is done correctly. Her hands on massage gave me great pain relief. I've had numerous PTs over the years. I made the most progress under her care. If I need PT again, I hope it will be with her. Mahez is very professional but also very kind and caring. She has a pleasant disposition which makes one very comfortable. She is also very inspiring. I always wanted to do my best for her (and me!). I am giving her an A+ or a 10 on a scale of 1-10. She's simply top-notch. I'm so glad and thankful that she was my PT.

We are so blessed to have Mahez... my husband and I are so grateful. She is not only patient and encouraging but she is so very knowledgeable. I can't tell you how much she has helped both of us. I just wanted to say she is an outstanding human being. She is perfect for us and we are so grateful.
