  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
  • Pelvic Health Physical Therapist

Lisa Kurien is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who is dedicated to helping women feel strong, confident, and connected to their bodies through every stage of life. She has more than 15 years of experience in orthopedic rehabilitation and a growing specialization in women's health, pelvic health, and the musculoskeletal syndromes associated with perimenopause and menopause. She works at Activcore in Princeton, New Jersey, located just 2 miles from Princeton University.

Lisa earned her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University, her Masters degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne, and her Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from MGR Medical University in India.

Lisa began her career in orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, helping individuals recover from injury, surgery, and chronic pain conditions. Over time, her clinical experience highlighted a consistent gap in care for women’s pelvic and postpartum health concerns within traditional orthopedic settings, shaping her growing commitment to women’s health.

Lisa is particularly dedicated to supporting women through the physical changes that occur across the lifespan, including pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic floor dysfunction, and perimenopause/menopause-related musculoskeletal changes. She helps women better understand and manage changes in strength, mobility, and overall physical performance during different stages of life.

Lisa is known for her hands-on treatment approach, strong clinical reasoning, and her ability to build meaningful, trusting relationships with her patients. She believes every patient deserves to feel heard, understood, and empowered, and she partners with each individual to identify the root causes of their symptoms and develop personalized treatment plans that support long-term function, strength, and confidence.

Outside the clinic, Lisa enjoys traveling with her family, tending her garden, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

My Reviews

Dr. Lisa Kurien is fantastic. Her knowledge of the musculoskeletal system is top notch bar none! Would highly recommend her for any of your needs. Due to osteoarthritis in my knee, I am working with her and the staff to get the flexibility back in it. I am walking better with less pain. Thank you!

Dr. Lisa is the best. She took care of my mother in her later years and took care of me as well after I experienced a bad ankle injury. Now she is helping my daughter who has jaw and neck pain.

This will be my second time rehabbing a massive shoulder surgery in 2 yrs. I went back because of Lisa the physical therapist. She's just a beautiful spirited person first, with a no nonsense fun and respectful way of rehabbing. In all this pain before and after a session you just can't wait to get back for more. My surgeon also respects her work.
