Sexual Dysfunction

A healthy pelvis improves your quality of life

One of the domains of pelvic health is sexual health. In PT, we consider the role of the pelvic floor muscles as part of the greater system of the body and how they play into the sexual response cycle. Many sexual dysfunctions have roots in pelvic floor dysfunction. The pelvic floor moves and changes depending on where the body is in the sexual response cycle.

What happens when your body gets in the way of intimacy?

• Pain
• Decreased pelvic floor awareness
• Core weakness

• Central nervous system dysregulation
• Bowel and bladder problems

We recognize that sexual functioning is multifactorial in nature and is determined based on the coordination of multiple systems. We work with other healthcare professionals to find and treat the root cause of sexual dysfunction in order to optimize your sexual health.

How can Activcore help?

Pelvic Health is typically not a big part of a physical therapist’s education. It is a specialization requiring much further study, training and practice following graduation.

Activcore physical therapists are uniquely qualified to treat people with sexual dysfunction. They go beyond the symptoms and look at the whole body. Equipped with the Redcord suspension system and other industry leading tools, they are specially trained to optimize how your mind and muscles work together so that you can regain control of your body.

You’re never just a number at Activcore. You will have your own dedicated physical therapist (not an aide) by your side throughout every session.

In a private office setting, your physical therapist will perform a comprehensive physical exam and movement screen to help determine the underlying root cause of the dysfunction. Together, you and your provider will then develop and commit to a plan of care tailored to your individual needs, lifestyle and goals.

You will feel the Activcore difference from your first visit. A highly personalized experience applying the latest breakthrough techniques in women's health, such as neuromuscular activation, postural muscle retraining, trigger point dry needling, manual therapy, myofascial release, and Pilates apparatus exercise. You will also receive a home exercise program customized just for you.

Activcore Success Stories

What are our clients saying about us?

Great space, great people, great service! I’ve been to many healthcare professionals for chronic back pain - doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists - and I have found that there are very few that are willing to devote the attention and effort required to reduce pain, improve mobility, and increase strength in your body. Activcore is absolutely one of those few. One-on-one services allow them to truly study your body and the way it moves before jumping to any (potentially inaccurate) diagnoses and strategies. Amazing! For anyone looking to improve their body functioning, I would definitely recommend Activcore.

Activcore is unlike anything I have ever experienced. One patient, one provider, one hour – one at a time, every time. If you’re serious about your physical therapy and recovery, this is the only place to go!
