Erson Religioso III serves as an advisor at Activcore. He is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and fellowship-trained practitioner, entrepreneur, blogger, and sought after lecturer in the topic of Modern Manual Therapy - The Eclectic Approach. He also has a cash-based physical therapy practice located in the Buffalo, NY area where he specializes in TMD, headaches, spinal care, runners, gymnasts, and chronic pain. Additionally, he has his own line of manual therapy, mobility, fitness and rehab products along with pain science education materials at EDGE Mobility System.
Erson joined Activcore because he believes in the cash-based, concierge treatment model. He also thinks his unique skill set of teaching, mentoring, entrepreneurship, and social media can help scale and build Activcore across the United States.
Erson received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from D’Youville College. He then earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy with residency in manual therapy from the University of St. Augustine. Erson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Furthermore, he has advanced certifications in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, Manual Therapy, Craniofacial Therapy, Nutritional Physical Therapy, Modern Strength Training (BFR), and Plant Based Nutrition.
Erson was inspired to pursue physical therapy by his parents. They are both physicians and their patients loved them. He has always enjoyed helping people and physical therapy seemed like a natural fit (with a lot less school!).
In terms of his treatment style, Erson emphasizes seeing the patient as little as possible and empowering them with Recovery Plans (he doesn't call it homework, since no one likes homework). While he teaches and practices Modern Manual Therapy, he uses as little hands-on techniques as possible. He enjoys working with TMJ, spine patients, runners, athletes and almost any musculoskeletal problem that is not resolving with traditional treatment.
Erson is a family man with a supportive wife and six beautiful children. He enjoys running, watching his kids compete in gymnastics, and Disney/Pixar movies. He is also a huge tech geek and loves all things Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek. If you see Dr. E out and about, or at a seminar, ask him to grab a beer or coffee and talk about shop or anything!
Dr. E is magical. He found a way to meet our teenage son exactly where he was at, share complex education in a down to Earth way AND get him back on the soccer field safely with new understanding and exercises that will support his intense athletic grind all season. His care and expertise are unmatched.
I’ve seen several different physical therapists over the years and Dr. E was by far the most attentive and produced the best results. I will be going back to him for any future issues and will highly recommend him.
My husband first met Erson 10 years ago for TMD and a shoulder problem after many failed treatments at various places. He changed his life with the pain relief he received. He is working with him again for another issue and has felt results after 1 treatment! He is a compassionate doctor who takes the time needed with each patient. A great man with great faith who He now considers a good friend.
